Do I have to have a qualified certificate to sign records?

It depends on the type of construction. A qualified electronic signature (certificate) is required if you want to keep a diary exclusively electronically (e.g. for public contracts in the above-limit regime, where it is required by law).

However, the construction diary can be exported to PDF and printed, and thus you keep the diary in paper (paper) form. Our application supports signing with a handwritten signature directly from the application. The BAUSW application is therefore suitable for all types of buildings.

How to proceed in cases where the person involved does not have a qualified certificate or cannot currently use it?

If it is not possible to use a qualified el. signature, the so-called “authorized conversion” can be used. You create the entry in paper form, including a signature, and convert the entry into electronic form using an authorized conversion. You can simply upload the electronic form of the document to the record as “Signature with certificate”. Specific steps how to create an “authorized conversion” depend on your local legislation.
